Cherry Road August 19th 2006 When word got out on the AZ Observing mailing list that there was actually a chance of clear skies predicted for the weekend, I just couldn't believe it. Checking with Clear Sky Clocks, confirmed the rumor!! I had finished re assembling my Atlas mount Friday night and after a quick conference with Ken Sikes we elected to load up and go to the Cherry Road site that SAC uses during the hotter weather. A band of clouds on the eastern through northern horizons seemed to be staying away and not moving in our direction at all. The night was passable with a lot of turbulence in the eyepiece, but like fishing we enjoyed it until 1:30am. "The worst day fishing is better than the best day at work" The sky worsened around midnight and Ken and I packed up and headed back to the heat of the valley.
