Scope Drive Hints

Home Up

Here will be the repository of silly little hints I have come up with when building my drive system.

Lazy man's RJ11-6 connector for interface box.

If you are going to not use the soldered onto the board socket for the handpaddle (as I did) and want an easy, quick method to mount the socket try this:

I took a RJ11-6 to DB9 adapter and carefully sawed it apart with a razor saw.  You need to pay particular attention to how deep you saw so you don't cut wires!!  Cut each side individually, don't saw through in one pass.  The resulting ears are used to surface mount the socket with small screws.  A .250" hole in the case allows the wires to be fed to the board.
