Almost an engineering drawing of an adapter to mate the Williams Optics Crayford focuser to the Meade large threaded port on the 10" and larger SCT's. The rear port threads on the Meade scopes are 3.250 X 16 tpi, Celestron scopes while similar are a different, slightly larger thread.
Finished adapter, it was machined from a 3.5" round of aluminum.
Turning the threads on the interior of the adapter. Center bore was left small until the last step.
Here is the test plug threaded into the adapter. I first made a replica of the rear port threads on another round so I could test the fit of the adapter as it can not be removed from the lathe until completed. Both pieces were machined from the same piece of aluminum, so I guess this photograph could be titled, "back to the beginning". (as in one piece of metal)
